convert mkv to dxv?

Post by sTuVIdR »

Hey does anyone know how to convert mkv directly to dxv?

Currently I'm doing it by: open in handbrake > convert to h264 > open in mpgstreamclip (or alley) > convert to dxv.

So I guess my question could be -
a) how do I get mpgstreamclip/alley to open mkv files?
b) how do I get handbrake to export to dxv?

Anyone knows anything let me know thanks!

For this file format AME sounds like the right tool for the job.

obs is free and it has a remux feature [file - remux recordings]. takes a few seconds to remux your mkv to mp4 and i guess you can manage from there. no quality loss on remuxing vs converting.

This guide states how to make DXV videos for Resolume in detail. You could have a look and hope it would be userful more or less: https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to ... -Resolume/

Speaking of normal video conversion, I used handbrake and winx video converter. personally, I like the winx tool more as it can convert video to MKV, MP4, MOV, HEVC and other formats without losing quality as well as reduce video size, cut, merge video and more.
