PJlink support

Post by SystemD »

Hello,
it could be nice if Resolume has the hability to use PJlink protocol.
For exemple, control the shutter from arena with a new effect or source called "PJlink Control" for exemple ;)

@Arvol :
The PJLink protocol is a protocol standardized by Japanese video projector manufacturers, allowing to control all compatible models.
Originally the commands were made by serial link (and this is still the case, but our HC2 box does not have a serial port), but the new models also have an Ethernet IP network port, allowing direct communication.
With this protocol, only basic information can be exchanged:
- Reading the status of the power supply
- Power on/off
- Reading the number of hours of the lamp
- Playback of selected video
- input Choice of video input
- Shutter control

I've create solution to control shutter through Resolume->TouchDesigner->pjLink protocol. All, what you need is create virtual clip with specific name(ShutterClose or ShutterOpen), set up OSC output from Resolume to TouchDesigner. Finnaly, in TouchDesigner, you have to set projector's ip-address in specific node.
If you're still interested in this theme, please let me know. I'll send you TD-patch, which implements pjlink.

Of course, it would be greate, if Resolume get native support of PJLink protocol. But for now I use this more complicated solution.

Looks like Companion from Bitfocus will be your friend on this one.
