I got my hands on a laptop from my coworker, just posted a benchmark with a gtx 960m from an asus ROG machine.
It plays 20 layers of clean and 11 niose layers 1080p. (Resolume 4.2.2)
nvidia driver version: 373.06

edit:
Looking at the benchmarks, a gtx 860m in a different system can make a huge difference.
I have a GT 650m in my macbook and the same gt 650m in a different config does just half the fps I have.
On my work laptop getting an update for the video card driver essentially halves my fps, but that's an ATI card.
So surely there are a lot of factors.

The laptop I benched with is a asus ROG machine with windows10. (GL551J) purchased late enough to have maxwell architecture.

The biggest difference in the 860's life was kepler 860's to the maxwell 860's and the probably some versions with 4gigs of ram. The 960m is a rebranded 860 4gig maxwell with a with a 100mhz clock boost. Honestly.

So I'm a bit skeptical of 20 layers.

I have no idea what architecture this chip was, haven't tried any other footage than the benchmark files.

Just for reference, what I have seen this far with different gpus and resolume benchmarks is pretty consistent with what I can see on http://www.videocardbenchmark.net.

It's the same. Only one type of 960m gtx was ever made. GM107. It's a 99% match to a 860m maxwell. passmark doesn't represent architecture versions unfortunately. There's too many versions out there over the years to bench.

But again Nvidia released the 960 with a barely higher clock for the "rerelease" and it does about 100more gflops. Not enough to make that much of the difference.

Wow guys! Thanks a lot. Really important information for me. I gonna check it all.
U know, i want also ask, i bought this laptop just for VJing. But now i have a strange feeling, that is not a best choice. Maybe i gonna sell it and buy something else. Btw processor getting hot, when i use Resolume. Almost 90 degrees.
What is ur opinion, what laptop is one of the best for VJing? I dont want to take mac, because im not familiar with it. Can u give me some few models that is ok for VJing? Budget is around 1200$. Thanks!
