to setup un public ftp server don't work. Video files are big. And big is a lot of traffic. And in the Netherlands traffic is big money for the ISP's.
So we have to find an ISP-er who also does VJ-work in the weekends and have some databites

If we setup a direct connect hub / dc++ hub for sharing files we got our own community and there has to be only 1 central server for the chat / hub not massive storage for the files ... this seems like a good p2p client for this kind of stuff and you can have users register and keep control on it ...
let me know wha you guys think about it ... and keep me posted plz if you decide to make a move in any direction ..

the Kazaa-idea... any of you guys who has his work shared? if so... witch keywords should I use?
resolume would be nice....
by the road, bl0m5t3r's idea is cool, it's also quality controlable... no more crummy vid's

) (unless it's supposed to be crummy) :oP

Vj Loop Trading.... Start...
-Kazza keyword: resolume
-date add:8/10/03
-content: swf, video footage, images
-type of connection: ADSL
I'm waiting your backbone... if everyone add a file...
no format limit...(.kos .res .mpg any type you use just add the keyword.)
I hope that you will find it as a starting point...

isn't Direct connect easier to control
I mean you can just log in a hub where everybody else is connected too.
I mean will i find you with Kazaa because i never find friends of mine on kazaa even when they are online.
and with dc we just go too the same hub.

I'd be a big fan of using SOULSEEK as the client application. It's got the best user control (You can give good uploaders access to your additional files) or ban non-contributing leeches, and chat with friends.
Soulseek also happens to be great for (and originally designed for) hard to find music. It's also very easy to use, and has NO SPYWARE like most of the file share apps out there today.
I reccomend EVERYONE create a shared Directory/folder with the following text string in it's name: "VJ_CONTENT" so we can find each other on the network.

Soulseek seems like a rad idea to me. Kazza has too many servers (I leave a repeating search for "resolume" and find nothing after 2 hours) While Soulseek operates in a similar manner, there's less servers, less trafiic, and more of a chance for us to all find each other. Plus there's a "wishlist" feature that makes it easy to stay up to date.
I vote Soulseek. I'll add that "VJ_Content" folder thing.
