Problems with Axiom Pro 49

Hi I'm new to Resolume, figuring out the setup in time for some upcoming performances.
I installed a SSD into my Macbook Pro and moved the OS to that. Since, Resolume 4 is running quite smoothly.
I've encoded the videos to DXV and the Resolume processes those videos beautifully, firing immediately on key presses.
The Axiom mainly can be broken up into a group of sliders, the keys, and 8 drum pads.
- I have layer 1, 2, and 3, visual opacity assigned to the sliders.
- I have video clips assigned to the keys
- I have the 'qwerty' cue points per clip mapped to the drum pads
In the live performance I am going back and forth quite a bit between these sections and it locks my Axiom up. It seems to get overwhelmed, especially when moving the 3 visual opacity sliders at once. The reboot of the midi controller is a few seconds so it doesn't 'break' the performance but I catch myself being 'nice' to the setup. The m-audio driver is up-to-date, and at this point I wonder if its something to do with the Axiom not being the most ideal but I can't beat the layout for what I do.
If there is anyone with info out there, I'd appreciate your input.
Best,
Yohey
