Hello,

my problem is, that Arena is crashing constantly on my brand new MacBook Pro Retina (late 2013). The performance is nowhere near where I would expect it to be, and when I throw some clips in and click around a little it takes only 1–2 minutes before I see the "has quit unexpectedly" pop up.

I tried different compositions with different clips, all footage that I've used before on other machines without problems. It first happend with 4.1.7 but still crashes in 4.1.8. No displays need to be attached for it to crash as well.

My system is set up quite normal, some audio drivers (Native Instruments & M-Audio), CUDA, Flip4Mac, Flash Player - nothing out of the ordinary.

I've been a big fan of the software for years and never had problems until I got my new machine, so I'm really hoping for some hints or even a solution.

Just made the update to OS X 10.9.2: No improvement.

Any advice?

Resolume seems to crash when accessing the audio buffer.

What settings are you using as a buffer size? Have you tried making that higher or lower?

thanks for looking into it!

Audio buffer size was 512 samples (default), still crashes at 1024 and 256 as described and hangs indefinetly when trying to set it to anything lower than 256. So yeah, there seems to be an issue.

As I don't need any audio output from Resolume: Is there a way to globally disable audio playback?

Well, you can turn down the volume, but the moment you add an audio track to a file or use a video file with embedded audio, Resolume will always have to process it.

You can remove the audio from a track by clicking on the X next to the audio info in the clip tab.

So this isn't a way to resolve my issues then. Any other ideas?

I'm sorry if you misunderstood me. I gave you an option that you can check which hopefully will prevent your Resolume from crashing, namely removing the audio channel.

You say you do not need the audio features, but in the log it looks like you do have a (silent) audio track embedded in your video files. Have you tried removing that track by clicking on the X in the audio area of the Clip tab?

You're right, I misread that.

Deleting the audio channels of all clips was tedious but did the trick: Arena is not crashing anymore, however badly I stress it.
