Hey Guys,

First of all here is what i found to this Topic so far :
Output and Receive DMX via Artnet and Enttec USB devices.
Are all Artnet Interfaces Supported ?

Is there a Chance that other Esb Dmx Interfaces will be supported soon.

For Example the Dmx4All Interfaces (German Manufacture)
http://www.shop.dmx4all.de/DMX4ALL-Prod ... nterfaces/
I bought one of them 2 weeks ago :?

I've been using a Martin Ether2DMX8 and it works fine

artnet works over ethernet, so you dont need an interface for it if you have an ethernet port or wifi.

I admit i dont know much, but at some point the Ethernet signal have to be converted into DMX. Or am i wrong here... ?

Not if you are controlling an artnet fixture or system (such as controlling Resolume Arena with Luminair on an iPad or iPhone)

You'd only need to convert into an actual DMX signal if you fixture requires a DMX signal (such as a moving light)

In Arena 4 you could use 1 DMX/Artnet universe so I typically used an Enttec ODE (Open DMX Ethernet) to control Arena from older light boards with no Artnet over a network since the ODE can be either in or out.

Now that in Arena 5, you can control multiple Artnet (1 input and multiple outputs) pixels with various colorspaces, our next purchase is an Enttec Pixelator with 24 Plinks of various voltahe to have the ability to control 48 DMX universes which let you control 8160 RGB pixel.

I only think about outputs...

Some "high class" Movinglights have an Input for Artnet but mine done have ;)

And as said not all usb dmx interfaces are supportet so i ask if there are limits in the Lan-Dmx Section.

The Idea is to have a collum bassed Show and have layers just for the Moving lights. So if i fire a clip the lights get a signal for couler and / or movment to be in sync and look good.
Is that possible or is the Dmx / artnet output just for Led walls.

it is possible, DMX is universal.

for example you could create a processing sketch which would receive midi CCs, draw rectangles with grayscale based on the CC values to spout/syphon, then map those rectangles to dmx fixtures.
You could record those videos in resolume for later playback.

Or you could make a quartz patch with control sliders for many rectangles. That would be quite simple to do.

you would have to control the color with the rectangles.
I think.

Keep in mind that Artnet is a protocol. As opposed to when using USB dongles, Resolume doesn't really need to access any devices when sending Artnet. Resolume just sends the data, and the device is responsible for picking it up.

When your light needs an actual DMX plug, like most lights do, the compatibility is between your light and whatever device you use to convert Artnet to DMX. Not between Resolume and that device.

Thank you Joris, thats all i needed to know so far... solved the knot in my head..

Now ( no matter if via arnet or usb / dmx interface)
Is it possible to send correct dmx values, like channel 2, 112 or channel 3, 255. and if so how ;)
