switch GPU in preference setting (eGPU)

Hi!
I just tested an eGPU setup using MBPR15" (OSX 10.10.5) with an external NVIDIA 980 Ti in thunderbolt 2 PCIe expansion chassis, an output Monitor was connected to 980 Ti.

It works and performs well in benchmark applications, but I tested in Arena 4.2.1 and got slower FPS in result,
I guess Arena still using original GPU inside MBPR, not 980Ti ( because 980Ti's FAN and temperature didn't rise up.)
maybe this situation is just like an desktop machine with two GPU card inside...
(I've read these articles :
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=11874&p=48673&hilit=+render#p48673
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11767&start=10&hilit=multiple+gpu
)

so is there any possible way can make Arena use a GPU I assign to ?
I think it would be great if we can VJing using laptop with eGPU !
Now I can only put the Arena UI into another monitor connected to eGPU, and mbp's display become useless...

You could try this sowftware gfxCardStatus but I don't know if it'll work with an external GPU.

I'm curious as to which PCIe chassis and setup you're using to run an external GPU on a macbook pro. As far as I understood, there were no legit GPU drivers available for OSX and OSX doesn't support eGPUs on Thunderbolt ports.

Hi~
check this video and see its description,

and I use this chassis
http://www.netstor.com.tw/_03/03_02.php?MTEy
unlike the one in video, this chassis is big enough to fit the size of 980Ti
