Can't remove midi mapping assignment

Once upon a time I assigned a button from my controller to the "record" button in resolume. Since then I have deleted that mapping, I've checked that both composition and application maps don't have anything assigned to "record", yet when I press the button that used to be assigned to it, it still activates record...
I've tried assigning a different button to "record" and basically now both buttons activate it which is even more frustrating as in theory you can't assign more than one CC to a single interface element.
where is this "ghost" assignment and how do I get rid of it?
