Can't figure out how to get proper fps

Sorry, it's one of these threads again :/ I read countless other ones but still can't seem to get Resolume properly running. I got my discrete Radeon going (at least I think so, the log file shows it as the main renderer - the fullscreen output says Intel Chip) but still get around 15fps with just three clips, no effects on 640x480. I really think the GPU should do better than that, or am I just mistaken here? I encoded all the clips in DXV but haven't got a SSD. I tried turning vsync and triple buffering on/off to no avail.
Can anybody give me a hint here?
