PC lighting software to sync with resolume using smpte?

Hi guys
I've been looking at various PC lighting softwares to sync with Resolume using smpte.
All the ones I've seen seem to need an expensive timecode box to receive or transmit a smpte track .
I want to run a smpte track from cubase to both resolume and the lighting desk to trigger a timed dmx fixture/moving head/LED baton/projection mapping /video show. I use about 5 artnet universes. It's a tv style show in my studio where I want to have basic control in general of lighting states easily and then have pre planned sections where all the video and lights sync for a track.
Is there any PC lighting software that will let me do this without an expensive dongle?
Maybe I should be looking at MTC or OSC instead?
I currently use Luminair for basic dmx fixture scenes but I'm not sure how to sync a music track with it and resolume easily.
cheers for any advice .
