First, I appologise for my english.

I have the same problème with all 2.xx versions of resolume (not with 1.4 and 1.5).

on my vidéo preview, some of my loops presents a vertical bar on the right. These vidéos always causes resolume crash when I drag and drop them to the deck.

I've try a lot of things, but without any results:

Réinstall windows xp
with and without sp2
minimal codecs installation
change vidéo drivers version
réinstall resolume...

My computer

dell laptop
xp sp2
512ddr
p4 3ghz HT
geforce fx GO 5200 64mo
all my vidéos are in cinepack or indeo 5

I continue working with 1.5, but I'd like to use 2.3 for overlay.

any sugestions ?

what is the base resolution of your footages ?

many codecs need to have a multiple of 8 or 16 as X resolution.
for example :
640 / 16 = 40 ok
600 / 16 = 37.5 = not ok

have you tryed to recompress some of the buggy footages with another codec ?
cinepack / indeo are not bad, but i rather to use Motion jpeg or Midivid.

think about deleting all the files in your "preview" folder to reload thumbnails.

I'll look for my vidéo résolutions, but I dont think it's the problem.
The vidéos with the right bar on the left are not the same when I reboot resolume, It sims to be random.

I've even tryed to recompress this vidéos but without any succes.

My entire vidéo collection works properly in another pc with resolume 2.3 and the sames codecs. Strange isnt'it ?

Sorry but I'm a French vj, what thumbnails means ?

Essaye de trier tes videos par petits groupes dans differents dossiers, il m'est deja arrivé d'avoir une video ou 2 qui corrompent l'affichage des vignettes des videos suivantes.
Suffit de supprimer la ou les bonnes et les problemes disparaissent.

Essaye d'utiliser la derniere version du driver de ta carte graphique ou alors une version moin récente mais réputée stable

Essaye une installation clean du système sans trop de codecs du genre divx (eviter absolument les pack de codec pour les installations 'VJ')

Essaye l'aperçu animé des videos, il marche bien ?

J'ai déjà essayé de trier, mais comme le problème est aléatoire, d'un jour sur l'autre, des vidéos qui faisaient planter marchent très bien le lendemain, et d'autres qui marchaient très bien ne marchent plus du tout.

Pour le driver, c'est peut-être une piste, je vais en passer plusieurs en revue pour essayer.

Install' clean j'ai déjà essayé, avec uniquement mes deux codecs : indéo, et cinépack (en natif sur xp pour ce dernier). Rien à faire de ce côté. De plus le problème se produit aussi bien sur de l'avi que sur du flash (le flash ne dépend pas des codecs vidéos). De plus tout marche bien sur mon autre pc qui est infesté de codecs foireux.

L'aperçu anime, j'ai pas essayé, je vais tenter ça ce soir en rentrant.

Ce qui est étrange, c'est que la barre verticale dans l'aperçu reproduit la partie droite de l'aperçu de mes claviers enregistrés ! C'est super bizarre! Ya peut-être un problème avec les claviers que je stock ? (les .dsk) Je vais essayer de les virer ou de les stocker ailleurs pour voir !

Thomething's very strange: The vertical bar (on the right of the vidéos) look's like a preview of an old deck I used 4 month ago !
Very strange, I've delete this deck for a long time, but it almost appear on the right of this vidéos

Ok, after 6 month, I've find the solution for my problem.

If you dont open no preview of your decks, resolume with work good. But if you browse your deck folder with a preview, a vertical bar will automatically appear on the right of your vidéo previews and make resolume crash.
So the solution is: réinstall résolume and dont load any preview of your decks, just use the deck thumbnail of resolume.

Not sure you need to reinstall.
Surely just deleting your preview files (program files/resolume2.x/previews) should do the trick?

may not be right but I'd be inclined to try that before reinstalling.
