Is there a way to record parameter changes (like key framing) in the timeline? Not just length and direction (etc.). I want to make snapshots of my parameter changes at different points in the timeline, and have it automatically adjust to each one as the playhead reaches that keyframe. Similar to Cinema 4d's timeline concept.

Look up “envelopes” in the manual and then have a play. Not precisely the same but a very powerful tool.
