Blackmagic duo 2 - Output drop frames

Post by Bassindaniel »

Hi all!

I have a problem with outputting a smooth SDI signal with my Blackmagic Duo 2.
(Resolume 7.11.3, Blackmagic drivers 12.3 & 11.6)

Tested two different Duo 2 cards. One of those is BRAND NEW.
720 and 1080. 25p/30p/50p/60p/50i/60i - Same problem with all

I did it in the past and it was perfect - on other versions (last time wa more than a year ago). and now its look like its drops every second frame.

Input is perfectly smooth.

Tested on:
- My desktop setup - PCIE - windows 10 PRO
- Asus F15 Laptop - TB3 with Sonnet Echo Express SE I - windows 10 PRO
- MSI GS66 - TB3 with Sonnet Echo Express SE I - windows 11 PRO
- Macbook pro 2020 i9 - TB3 with Sonnet Echo Express SE I

Outputting from Vmix works prefect.
Outputting NDI From Resolume to vmix and encode is to SDI also works fine  .

Please help me solve this issue.
Daniel

Can you try setting the composition frame rate to the same you'd like to send to your output, and set the Delay in the Advanced Output to 1 ms?

Comp and screens are all 50.

I’ll come back home next week from oversea traveling and check the 1 ms issue.

Thanks.

Blackmagic Frame Drop SDI

Post by victor-zorro »

Hi,

I tried a lot.
But I keep getting frame drops with blackmagic.

So far I tested multiple machines.
i7 /64GB Memory
dual xeon hp workstation 840 with 256 GB memory

Tested cards: nvidia 3070 & 1650 & AMD 5700XT

Cards I tested are:
- blackmagic intesity 4k hdmi out works great.
- blackmagic duo sdi not.

- duo 2 and quad 2 do not work.

Tested decklink driver 11.6 & 12.1 & 12.3

Arena 7.3 never works
6.1.5 sometimes.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Do the output settings for Resolume match the setting in Desktop Video?

I have a server with a 9820X and 2080 Super, and the Duo 2 works fine. Just built another server today with a 7920X and 3080, and the Duo 2 works just fine

All with latest Resolume and Desktop Video drivers

The same here. Arena 7.11.3 and Blackmagic duo 2 playout is not smooth at all. Inputs work perfectly. With Vmix playout with duo 2 is good, same card same PC.
