SMPTE problem

Post by Verdiers »

Hi

I have this problem, that every time I recieve SMPTE in Resolume Arena, it will play the SMPTE from a new point in time. The timecode is send from a q-lab computer, and split to the lighing desk and sound card attaced to the laptop runing Resolume.
When running a TC, Resolume is almost always behind, and the difference varies from 15frames to 3 sec. Its is not that resolume is a bit behind, that is the problem, but that it is different every time, so i have no change of syncing my content to the SMPTE.

Everyone who has this problem, or now a fix?

Im using Arena 7.13.2 runing on a Lenovo Legion i7, with a Focusrite Scarlett Solo sound card.
The frame rate and sample rate are all the same.

Thanks a lot! :)

What audio hardware you’re using for input?
What’s your buffer setting?

Do a test with only qlab and resolume, smpte works very well for me...
Try to set a clip at 1:00.0 and qlab at 0:57.0
See if resolume starts at 1:00.0
3 seconds... Seems the time needed to grandMa2 to link to timecode... MA needs like 3 sec. of preroll to set new position for motorized...
In our last show my resolume was set in time (ex 1:00.0, 2:00.0 etc) and MA2 with 3 seconds of preroll before catching smpte
