SourceFX Resolution

So what does the resolution in the patch tab do? I would have thought the patch should get the resolution either from resolume, or the window size. What should be the export res otherwise? I've had aliasing issues in resolume as a source fx, hence me asking

The resolution in the patch panel does only define at what resolution this patch runs in Wire.

If loaded as a plugin with Arena or Avenue then indeed the resolution will be set by the host, some nodes can also have a different specific resolution set in the node.

Setting the resolution in the patch is great to test the patch in the required resolution or quickly test if it scales to different resolutions dynamically as expected. Also when using Wire standalone it is important that you can set the resolution of your output.

If you can give an example patch of your aliasing issues we can take a look at that too!

Thanks for the info, I think I've found the problem, does resolume use the display scaling? I've turned set it to 100%, and the blockiness is gone, it looks like the source effect was being rescaled by the display zoom, is this a known issue?

Display scaling should not affect how a patch sizes itself in either Arena or Wire.

If you have a patch which behaves weird for you with specific display settings, we'd love to check it out!
You can attach the .wire file here zipped or send it to mail@resolume.com
Thanks!

I think it was a driver issue, I'd been keeping them old as my laptop has 'issues' with shitty mainboard drivers!. I'm forgoing being able to right click on my desktop, and I've updated them, and all seems fine now!
