Im new to Resolume. Is it possible to use the APC-40 with the new version of Resolume, or do I have to use a MKII?

Hey, welcome to Resolume! 👋

Yes, you can definitely use the original APC40 (MK1) with the latest version of Resolume. There is no need to get the MKII unless you're specifically after the newer layout or features. Resolume has built-in MIDI support for both versions, and the MK1 still works great even today.

In fact, any MIDI controller will work with Resolume, even if it’s 20 years old! As long as your computer can see it and it sends MIDI signals, Resolume can map it. We've seen people use everything from classic drum pads to old-school keyboards and even DIY controllers — it’s super flexible.

Just plug in your controller, install the drivers if needed, go to the MIDI tab in Resolume’s preferences if you see your controller there, you should be good to go.

Yes, you can use the APC-40 (original version) with the latest version of Resolume — it still works fine. You just need to configure the MIDI settings manually under Preferences → MIDI.
If you have the APC-40 MKII, that also works and comes with better mapping options out of the box.
