I'd probably go for MidiOverLan, and connect them via an ethernet cable. You can download the great rtpMidi tools for PC here:
http://www.tobias-erichsen.de/rtpMIDI.html. OSX has this tool built-in.

				Hello all,
I know it's an old post... but if my answer can still help somebody...
If you search a reliable and free solution to connect all yours computers together:
http://www.copperlan.org
100% compatible with MACOSX, WIN, your USB MIDI interface and all your softwares
I have a couple of MIDI interface AL88 from
http://www.alyseum.com to connect all my synthesizers, amazing!

I used it, very simple and fast, real plug&play

It's a global solution for my studio
