Graphics Card for 6 Outputs. Question.

Hi guys.
A friend of mine is asking me, he's planning to build a pc to run Arena,
and want to have six outputs via matrox Th2go.
His supplier send me a list of availaible components, and a configuration proponsal. The specs are very nice, but includes a HD7970 (or a gtx580 evga as cheap alternative).
I was reading several topics about this card here, and don't seems to be the best choice (in general terms ppl note that have a limited memory bandwidth and performs just a little better than a Gtx280).
In the other hand, I recommend nvidia for this task, cause he lacks! on computer hardware and configuration knowledge.

Can somebody point me a good solution?
Is better choice try to find a pair of gtx280/285?

I´m not very much versed about graphic cards either, but I´m thinking in:
A single gpu nvidia card.
512bit
two dvi-i outputs and one digital (dp or hdmi).

Remember, this machine is just to run Arena. Not other proponsals.
Any idea?

Thanks.

get an older HD5870 eyefinity 6

I know it's not flashy and brand new, but it works great! plus gives you 6 outputs on one card!

i believe the resolume development team even has this card, so your support will be the best it could be.

Thanks Sticky, I will gives it a try.
Anyway, the point is that he already have two matrox, and a bunch of vga projectors.
With a HD5870 I will need 6 active D/A converters.

but then you don't have to have a MAtrox TH2go, if you've ever had one fail on you just before show time, you'll understand...

those little Matrox boxes are great, and cheap as chips, but when they die, or just plain old don't work, cause sometimes they do that... they are the worst thing ever!

Don't buy the Apple mini display port to vga adaptors, get ones on the eyefinity compatibility list...
It's an irritating and expensive mistake. Worse, they sorta work, until the main act hits the sage...
