hi!
we're trying to output to 6 1920*1200 outputs, so were rolling with 11520*1200px video files. unfortunately we're getting pretty laggy performance, the video stutters slightly at random intervalls. no smooth playback langer than 2 seconds. jumping frames all the time.
our setup so far:
videos are DXV3 encoded.
new WIN 10 System, i7-6850k, two PCIE M2 Storage cards for system and content.
two nvidia m4000 cards in SLI mode. tried mosaic configurations and single outputs.
what we tried:
VLC plays back an mp4 file with the same dimensions of 11520*1200 just fine (a lot smaller in filesize of course, but the DVX files birate hardly challenge the system), across all monitors. so we suspect resolume just doesnt handle the texturesize too well.
your thoughts?
cheers, max

Re: Large Video Textures lagging/stuttering
I'm not sure if the Quadro series and the GTX series control panel is the same. But can you confirm that the 3d settings in the nvidia control panel for Arena (Total War) is set to manual high performance nvidia card?
Have you tried the setup without SLI?
Are these 11520*1200px video files a single file or multiple files combined to make a 11520*1200px video files?
How large is your file size? And what is it's length?

hey thanks for you reply! we'll check in a bit, but first let me ask, why do you ask about the game "Arena (Total War)"?
Re: Large Video Textures lagging/stuttering
My computer out of the box has a 1060 and 1080. both had Arena defaulted to the onboard graphics rather than the nvidia card. I had to tell nvidia to run Arena when opened. made my fps jump from 28 to 140

Re: Large Video Textures lagging/stuttering
also i dont think that is where the answer is.
the video we are using for performance tests has 60fps, 11520x2000px runs 6 seconds and has 25mb. our m2 storage can deliver around 2GB/sec, so theres no bottleneck here.
heres my testfile, how does that perform in a 11520x1200 composition on your end?

Re: Large Video Textures lagging/stuttering
I'm getting 86fps with your test file.
Here is what I was referring to on the NVIDIA control panel:

but since you're using a Quadro series, your control panel may be different? My K4000 card has the same control panel as my GTX1060 though.
m.2 isn't your bottleneck, but if you're running it through a raid controller, there miiight be an issue there? I had a Razer Blade Pro with 2 m.2's in raid and it had major problems.
I'd start with confirming that your NVIDIA GPU is actually the GPU rendering Resolume. If it is, I'd then email support.

Re: Large Video Textures lagging/stuttering
okay, thanks! we're "getting" around 60FPS here. thats what the little number in the output monitor says. system is not even getting warm, still frames are slightly stuttering, not playing back smoothly. all supersmooth plaback on your side?
will double check with that nvidia panel again.
thank you!

Re: Large Video Textures lagging/stuttering
yeah, everything ran smooth without stutters. There was a 1 frame white flash (like a strobe hit) is that suppose to happen? Didn't know if that was created in the content or not?

Re: Large Video Textures lagging/stuttering
that panel doesnt offer us the choice as you have to choose a special card for arena. probably because our motherboard/chip doesnt have onboard graphics at all. :/
the flash is on purpose to see if we're in snyc across the monitors.
