An effect that plays a video or image overlaid.
A SVG vector import and extrude effect.
Delayed tile effect with mirroring and sliding.
Radial/linear repeater with spread, scale, rotate params
A shape (circle, star, hexagon etc) array effect that adopts the clip colour (with extrusion?)
Light streaks with audio reaction.

I'm always very interested by generative fx, especially with audio, there is so much to do !

* Radial/linear repeater with spread, scale, rotate params
(this is coming, its a radial cloner, at least that's how i call it.) You can achive effects like this

Can you explain a little more
A shape (circle, star, hexagon etc) array effect that adopts the clip colour (with extrusion?)
You mean like, have a selections of shapes, sqaure, cirlce, ring, with parameters, that title in x and y
adopt the color, or white with alpha?
The SVG or extrusion tool, I have been looking at that, there would be so many parameters and animation curves, i think its better to make something to feeds it into resolume via spout or syphon, if VOU makes great progress, if we at one point can load compositions like quarz composer but on windows and mac that will be great. I have to look a lot more into this.

Now i get it, you want these effects and transformations on the mask, I am not sure i can access that the same way as the mask would work. for animated mask I would use layer blend modes you have full control then. From what i have been reading Resolume 5 will offer more options and parameters for masks.DayVeeJay wrote:I'd love to see a plugin that allows a user to load a png file for use as a mask. In addition I'd like to have parameters to adjust the scale, position, Z rotation and crop of this mask. A useful feature to this would include a checkbox to make the "background" black or transparent. For example... If a mask is scaled down to 10% the normal content will begin to show around it. With this feature enabled, everything will be black/transparent except for the alpha channel within the boundaries of the image. When I say transparent I mean that the layer below it will show through.
Another useful plugin would be an advanced version of vignette to fade edges. I did an install last week on a curved DJ booth that was basically a 6ft tall cylinder. The left/right edges are almost parallel with the projection. This caused some really jagged edges. I tried using the vignette effect but was only able to get three sides fading as I'd like. I suspect this had something to due with the projector being mounted off center (my knowledge of resolume tells me otherwise). Anyways, it'd be really cool to have a fade to black/transparent effect where you could adjust each of the four sides. Added bonus is the ability to set one side, click a button and those settings get copied to the other three sides. Cheers!

Some more ideas...
Matrix text effect based on clip luma (or hue or whatever)
The Tesselator (no idea what it does but a good name for a plugin)
Little planet/Polar coordinates
PixelBender/Processing/some other GL scripting
Lightning/electricity/glow
Guitar Hero

More explanation on the delayed tile proposal...
Lets say we have 16x9 = 144 tiles. Each tile would be a frame back in time of the video updated after a configurable period of time. Might require a sizeable buffer to store the frames.
The mirroring would flip alternate rows/columns of tiles. The sliding would slide alternate rows (or columns) of tiles. The sliding could be implement as an x or y offset and animated in Resolume. This would allow you to have staggered tiles or sliding filmstrips.

And on the linear/radial repeater...
Being able to do Britney clones as in the scream and shout video.

fob67cry wrote:DayVeeJay, you can use a png as a mask on a clip. If you create a black/transparent png file in photoshop, you can drop it on an existing clip. I think that by default, the black will be see through but you can reverse the mask by using the button of the mask. Resolume will stretch the mask to fit the size of the clip so it's best to have your png be the same size as your clip to have a predictable mask.DayVeeJay wrote:I'd love to see a plugin that allows a user to load a png file for use as a mask.
Yes this is true. A plugin would reduce the amount of work and would be a better process since 90% would be done in resolume.

x2 on all of sadler's ideas. They're fantastic!
