Everything snaps to everything - Not!

Post by Joris »

As Cosmowe mentioned in another thread, the new snapping functions in the Advanced Output does not include snapping between slice output warper points.

There's bound to be a few others missing as well, so let's make this thread into a list of any snapping options you are missing:

- Slice output warper points. Should snap to other warper points, poly points, mask points, fixture points

I think linear warp points should snap to perspective warp points within the same slice.

You should be able to select 2 snapped Points from 2 different slices.

Please keep this topic for missing snap options only. Selecting points from multiple slices is a different feature altogether.

Input Masks

When editing points of an Input Mask, would love if points would snap to boundaries of the parent slice.

This may be slightly off topic for this thread but I'll leave it here just in case:

Copy/Paste of Masks:

I think it's probably a safe assumption that if I were copying an input mask to paste into another slice, then that slice is probably identical in size.

Would be cool to have the pasted mask be placed inside the bounds of the parent slice it is being applied to.

Ooooo one more actual Snap Rule that I think could be useful:

If zoomed in close, only snap to objects that are currently in view / on screen

Sometimes you're just trying to align a small subset of objects together but they keep trying to snap to other stuff above or below. Zoom in to focus Snap Area, and only snap within that area, to minimize any unwanted snapping.
