not only transport but also cue & rgb

Post by werlin »

hi all! :)

while im sure we are all absolutely gratefull for the new great changes like transport controls  i would like nonetheless to make a sugestion

instead of this gigantic waste of space

Image

why not something like this:

not exactly there, because i know there maybe some issues on putting clip controls on layer controls's space, and also though i'm not into audio maybe the AV loving ppl out there deserve the same greater level of control that these two new addictions would provide, even if the transport controls became just 10 px wider

also it would be usefull i guess to see the cue markers on the clip properties panel's timeline, like inverted position markers, segment color, even little 1pixel dots, i dont know.. but some kind of visual clue

apart from that i also want to say: keep up the good work ;)

edit: just droped in to add > i miss the preview matrix

ps.
and while im posting and dont see the need for another thread just for a quick question:
why is the kaleidoscope all stretched in 16:9 comps? it makes an elipse instead of the usual circle

Hey Werlin
not exactly there, because i know there maybe some issues on putting clip controls on layer controls's space, and also though i'm not into audio maybe the AV loving ppl out there deserve the same greater level of control that these two new addictions would provide, even if the transport controls became just 10 px wider
We're glad you like the new transport controls. We appreciate your suggestions for improving them further, but as you say, putting the RGBA buttons in that location would interfere with the audio controls if they aren't disabled. Also putting layer shortcuts there is not something that could be maintained for all users, since not everybody uses the same mapping plan.
also it would be usefull i guess to see the cue markers on the clip properties panel's timeline, like inverted position markers, segment color, even little 1pixel dots, i dont know.. but some kind of visual clue
The visuals cue points is something worth considering.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by preview matrix.
why is the kaleidoscope all stretched in 16:9 comps? it makes an elipse instead of the usual circle
Good point. We'll look into it.

something like this maybe?

i really cant stress enough how much these two rows of shortcuts (cues and rgb) would add to live performance possibilities, giving avenue the kind of hands on approach that arkaos users have when playing
(think of the marketshare you would win   you would be rich, filthy rich, billionaires, visualists would take over the world, MUAHAHAH.... ok calm down now.. )

by preview matrix i mean the preview matrix on resolume 2, well i know it was practical to have a 2x2 video grid with only 3 layers and one final result, so i wouldnt say a preview matrix but maybe instead of posterframe thumbnails maybe having a thumbnail video playing would be nice (if it doesnt drop fps-performace much)

ps:
btw also about rgb... res2 has rgba controls on effects, so why remove them in avenue? or is that a non-existing possibility in ffgl?

scratch that cue thing... just realized that as a workaround you can assign different rows of triggers to diferent rows of clips... still the rgba on transport would be nice
