I've been testing an SDI input BlackMagic UltraStudio Express this week and I'm having a lag issue.
If I set a Sony EX3 to 1080i I can see a 2 frame delay between the sdi preview monitor and the resolume control screen and another 2 frames from the control screen to the fullscreen output. 4 frames in total
If I set a Sony EX3 to 720p I can see a 1 frame delay between the sdi preview monitor and the resolume control screen and another 1 frames from the control screen to the fullscreen output. 2 frames in total
I'm pretty impressed that resolume can keep the delay down to 2 frames. However I'm have a strange video lag. Any fast moving objects in the frame appear to have the effect of dropping the frame rate down to 10fps, but resolume still reports that I'm at 50 - 59.94 fps.
I'm running this off a new 13.3" MBP i7 that only has the HD4000 GPU
I'm goal is to get a mobile laptop setup that I can use for basic corporate imag/slide.

goal: rig 8 spycams on musicians on stage > SDI multi-cam BM studio + laptop1 > Program output to ResolumeLaptop2 (through Ultrastudio) > effects layers/real-time video-processing to projection screen on stage + final edit later

I will be doing more tests coming days.
Problems: I only have 1 Thunderbolt port on ResolumeLaptop2, there seems to be an issue with input/output through 1 Thunderbolt port... The Latency of 6 frames I might get away with (Blackmagic should make latency free gear for us!
). Also I need to find a way to sync the BMstudio triggering different sources and jumping layers in Resolume, so I can have layer1 on camera1, layer3 on camera3 etc > video-mapping. Stuff to figure out.

Trying to connect my Ex1r into Resolume 5.4 via Blackmagic Studio Express.
Have tried all the output settings on the EX1 as well as PAL and NTSC (I'm in a PAL Area) - but resolume doesn't see the video.
I can see the video via Blackmagic Application (Media Express) - so it is inputting into the Studio Express OK - but it is the connectivity between Resolume and Studio Express.
Resolume can also detect the Media Express - and can load the camera but no video signal gets through.
Any insights?
