APC40 mk2 pad lights dont turn on with new laptop

Hey there I just got a new Acer Helios Predator 16s AI yesterday and when I am in resolume and go to midi map my Akai APC40 mk2 the pads dont light up like normal. Everything still operates as it should I just cant see what im doing.
Ive never had this problem on my desktop.
I then plugged my controller back into my desktop and the pads light up totally fine. The only lights on the controller are the knobs that stay at zero and one pad at bottom left.
I have midi input and output selected. Seemingly all settings are identical to my desktop which works fine.
Any help would be infinitely appreciated. AI has just been hallucinating all sorts of garbage with this issue so I figured I would regain some humanity and ask you all.
