Just to be sure I understand you 100%: It is in fact possible to render Hap encoded MOVs on Windows, from let's say for instance AE?
Correct, install the Hap QuickTime codec Windows version.
And Hap encoded AVIs play with hardware acceleration in VDMX and the other usual suspects?
For VDMX and ...

Re: HAP support?
Just chiming in to correct some disinformation in this thread.
Hap is a video codec, and not a container format (and the same goes for DXV, H.264, etc, etc). Currently there is support for it in AVI and QuickTime containers, because those are the ones most people use.

Re: Do string parameters work in FFGL Plugins?
Yep they work - we use them for the Syphon plugins (now redundant in Resolume, but still functional). We don't use the FFGL SDK, but code is at http://code.google.com/p/syphon-impleme ... FFreeFrame

Re: DXV profiles
It's interesting though. As far as we know, the latest internal Resolume build is currently the only software that can actually do an A/B test of both codecs in the same software, and we found CPU usage was identical.
How have you tested the CPU usage? Maybe it's just that VDMX has a lower CPU ...

Re: DXV profiles
There will. Having more options for lightning fast playback is great and we'd be silly to not support it.
This is excellent news.
Contrary to what it says on the Vidvox site, CPU use is not higher or lower on the codec decompression itself.

Re: Screen Capturing Solution
Thanks for replay, but tested! Syphon (Client/Server) Recorder has the same FPS problems with recordings as the Resolume record Button himself. If my composition runs with 35-42FPS, also the recorded Syphon Video is near 15-25 FPS = Syphon is out ;-)

Re: Please give us stable fps for recording/rendering.
An alternative on Mac is Syphon Recorder plus the Syphon Server FFGL plugin in Resolume. As long as your disk can keep up it is happy recording HD frame sizes.
