t1swift - i thought it could be but have tried moving the screens and slices and the border remains.
pfelberg - not a footage error, if i move the bird up it appears fine. the border goes all the way around the slice.
maybe i should redraw the slice and screen?

Random border appearing
Hi all,
Anyone have any idea what might be causing a border to appear in the attached image?
I've also attached a screenshot out the Output input panel too.
I thought it might be a mask but it doesn't matter which direction i move the slices the gap remains.
Any help would be much appreciated ...

we are actually using this board: ASUS Z170-AR
it has the following expansion slots:
2 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8)
1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (max at x4 mode ...
