KissBox makes a few products that can run midi over network cables.

I’ve seen people use xlr to 5 pin DIN adapters on each side as well but not sure how reliable that is.

There’s a device called a dowser that is made for this. It covers the lens without shutting off the projector and can be controlled via DMX.
