in osx use Qlab. it can send OSC messages to Resolume to start play the clip and the cues what you make in lab can be trigger by SMPTE or MIDI timecode. Simple, clean and stable. In osx, use qlab. Create an OSC command cue to start te resolume clip, and set a time trigger in qlab for the cue.

what macintosh maschine are you useing?

if you are in a non-retina macbook pro, or air, and if you connect the projector your displays are mirrored, than the projector gets the normal display resolution, for example a 2010 mid 13' macbook pro in mirrored mode gives 1280x800px.
