I am having a ton of crashes on R4 too. 14 decks, all with 48 clips, all clips are Quicktime h.264 1920x1080 8.8mbps bit rate.

Ever figure out whats up with the crashes? I am getting the same thing. Always randomly. I do have 14 decks, all with 48 clips, all clips are Quicktime h.264 1920x1080 8.8mbps bit rate.

Yeah, I have been running 3 clip layers and two input layers on top of that, just added a 3rd capture card so yeah doing the stress test now. If anyone can confirm that bypassing frees up system resources I would be grateful. Cheers-

Does R4 work that way? If a layer is bypassed or its transparency 0% would it still tax the system? I have 3 layers for inputs and 3 for clips, wondering if it would help to bypass some when not in use.

Would be cool if it was just up /down two buttons and left/ right two buttons and went in increments of column and layers!! Seems simple enough, squeeze that into 4.0.2?? hope hope! :]

Are you on mac or PC? I have yet to find a USB capture card that will work on mac. People had said igrabber, it is junk- on mac aaaand pc..

I had tried the MXO2 and averTV expressHD, too much delay. The BMD Intensity Shuttle works good it you have usb3 (and a chipset that works with the shuttle).

Well, going with Quicktime, h.264, 1920x1080 square pix, progressive, 30fps, keyframe every frame, frame bending, max quality, limit data rate to 88000kbps or 8.8mbps. This equals about 400mb per minute and I get smooth playback on all systems, base test system being a 2007 MacBook Pro with an Nvidi...
