multiple output crash

hi gang, I'm loving my new Alienware 15 inch R4 laptop, it's handling my layers and effects really well. However i have got a problem with the output... If i use the fullscreen output the external display goes white and Resolume crashes. If i use the windowed output then it's fine. However, i have R...

Re: new laptop for best performance

hey guys, thanks, I decided to go with the Alienware 15 inch with i9 processor and GTX 1080 graphics card. hopefully it will be powerful enough so i don't need to add an external graphics card for a long while at least! I think it's the best spec i can afford and i think Dell is a reliable company. ...

Re: new laptop for best performance

Hey both, thanks for your helpful replies! I feel reassured that one graphics card is plenty, and that it might not be beneficial to go for an i9 yet -i'll see if i can find out more about how the alienware does on the heat issue. I had considered getting a Razer Core to improve the graphics. What d...

new laptop for best performance

Hi guys, I'm looking for advice if anyone can offer it! I need to get a new laptop for my Resolume Arena performance because my Lenovo Y70Touch is now starting to drop frames when i play. This has a lot to do with the fact that i'm now using lots of Blur and Feedback effects which require lots of co...

midi controller lights not communicating properly

Hi guys, I have a LIVID CNTRL:L midi controller which i love using with my resolume. The buttons light up when activated but recently some of the the lights aren't responding when i click on them while others are still working fine. The ones that still work are the simple independent on/off buttons,...

Re: Adobe 2018 April kills DXV

Thanks Joris,
I knew you guys would save the day... I'll look out for when you put the new cunning DXV plan into action.
Thanks for the hug for everyone, too!
Meanwhile i'll use the previous version of after effects to get by...
Cheers!
Suzybee :)

Re: Adobe 2018 April kills DXV

hi guys, i had the same problem. I just installed the latest verson of adobe after effects CC and my DXV3 codec had gone. I tried reinstalling the codec but that didn't work so i had to go back to the previous after effects version (15.0.1) so i could use the codec again. I'd really like to keep upd...

Re: working at higher resolution (4K) for future-proofing

Hi crv74, thanks for your comments. I'm starting to think that something lile 3500 x 1080 (or 3240 x 1080 for a 3:1 ratio) would be a good way to go because it gives a good widescreen format and can be achieved with two HD projectors blended, and won't be pushing my laptop too hard. And as you say p...

Re: working at higher resolution (4K) for future-proofing

Hi Oaktown, Thanks for your thoughts, i agree at the moment most venues wouldn't be able to support 4K at the moment anyway so there's no hurry. It's one of those how-long-is-a-piece-of-string questions, i know, because things vary with every situation/venue... It's useful to hear what resolutions y...
