Re: Extended Desktop Limitations

Four outputs from one card is fairly normal limitation. My suggestion would be to use a Datapath device on one or more of your outputs to create the extra connections you need. They're very flexible, also expensive, but worth it!

Re: DXV Alpha channel not rendering - Help!

I still haven't had any luck with Compressor, but thank you for the tip regarding Adobe Media Encoder and the 32bit render depth. I'm now sharing from motion as QuickTime Animations and then dropping them through Adobe. Murder on disc space!

Re: DXV Alpha channel not rendering - Help!

In Adobe Media Encoder, make sure you're using the max rendering depth (32-bit) in the video settings when you render DXV with alpha or the alpha channel won't be preserved during the encoding process. Cheers Oaktown. I've abandoned my mac at work for the night but will give this a shot tomorrow. I...

Re: DXV Alpha channel not rendering - Help!

Cheers Joris (and thank you for the email!) I've tried changing the codec settings back once applied to the video, still no luck :( I've just tried using Adobe Media Encoder and got the same results. Must be something in my setup. Probably the software gremlins telling me it's time for a re-format a...

DXV Alpha channel not rendering - Help!

I’m trying to render some DXV’s from Apple motion using Compressor. I’ve got the DXV codec installed, in fact I’ve just ditched everything, trashed the library presets, and reinstalled everything. I've created two "Compressor" destination settings. One has DXV3 High Quality "With Alph...

Re: How to map RGB channels on faders ?

I use the add/subtract effect (on the layer usually) and either map the attributes to encoders on a midi controller or via ArtNet to the lighting desk so the Lampy can affect my video choices.

Re: 2 outputs 2 different displays?

Almost certainly. You need to be able to run in extended desktop mode across three screens. Screen 1 being your Resolume control screen and screens 2 & 3 will be your outputs. Make sure you've got this configured in windows (or Mac) before you even open resolume. The only other way to do it is t...

Re: Auto Pilot

You can have them all on the same layer, but with different positions. Then they can appear in different places on the house.

As for the projections, you really need to experiment. Having pale coloured curtains behind the glad can work, or it can make it worse!

Re: Out of Sync - Recording Resolume Output when triggerd by Midi in DAW

Ave you got the scope/budget to consider any of the external recorder options? We use Blackmagic Hyperdeck units, and we also have an Atamos Samauri recorder. Both will take a full HD source and record it fully uncompressed. Just be ready for scary file sizes!
