Yep, this would be very, very nice.

Compositing on the GPU would make things very fast and interesting.

You could use a MIDI over NET program (for example http://tobybear.de/p_midibag.html - bottom of page) on both computers, then drive Resolume using MIDI commands.

I've had good results with MIDI sent from Ableton Live.

Yep, you can assign MIDI notes to stuff like selecting the active layer slot. Note that Resolume records the active channel number as well, so if your bandmates aren't using the channels you can multiply the number of available notes/controllers by 16. This means that you could potentially dedicate ...

IBM Thinkpad, Pentium-M at 1.7Ghz, 7200RPM 80GB drive.

I have 3 layers at 320x240, with effects, running at more than 30fps.

Out of curiosity, what kind of clip size and frame rates are people seeing?

More orientation towards beats, for things like timing.

Also - chromakey.

To be honest, most of stuff I do with MIDI control involves MIDI -> Resolume from another program, so MIDI out from Resolume is not so important.

RiverPast VideoCleaner is quite good, and it reads .MOV and .MP4, which VirtualDub does not.

Depending on what you want to do, the Lite version at $19.95 might be enough.

Crash on exit

Loaded Resolume 2.3, played around with some filters and the feedback source, exit the program. I get the usual "attempted to read memory at xxx" error, which I've seen before, followed by the Microsoft error dialog "The program Resolume.exe has encountered a serious error bla bla bla...

very slow to start

Resolume 2.3 seems to start up much slower than 2.2 - it takes about 2 minutes to start.

My plugin directory has only the stuff that comes with the 2.3 distro, whereas 2.2 loads with a bunch (100+) of freeframes, and is quicker.

Maybe something to do with the screen setup?
