Re: Hardware priorities - what is the most important part of

Definitely go cpu over motherboard, a motherboard is basically just a link between the important parts of the computer (cpu/gpu). Get a motherboard that has the highest end chipset your cpu can support, make sure if has enough pci-e sockets with 8x or above lanes (also processor dependent), enough s...

Re: Can I reduce the definition of my home display in Win 8.

If you wish to free up some graphics resources, the process to change the resolution on any screen is this (in 8.1) In Desktop view (same view resolume runs in) Right click open space on the desktop Select "Screen Resolution" Display 1 will probably be your control screen, you can choose f...

Re: Deciding between two laptops

I'd go for the newegg over best buy model almost regardless of the machine, best buy takes the factory bloatware as a challenge, usually doubling the number of "helpful" utilities included. I returned the one and only laptop I bought from best buy for other reasons, but it was pretty ridic...

Re: PC friendly DXV

Re: XY Pad on TouchOSC

You could do this with a processing patch. Its been a while since I messed with osc but the commands would look roughly like this Coming into patch /1/xy .8322 .3392 Coming out of patch /1/x .8322 /1/y .3392 The processing code would basically just be read into an array, split the array elements, by...

Re: Scope and / or Level or Brightness / Contrast

As an led tech who has worked with a pretty wide variety of panels (lighthouse, martin, elation, chauvet and various Chinese) I believe every mapping system I've used has had some version of RGB/Color Temp control. Still not exactly what you asked for, which would be a cool feature, but it could get...

Re: Add additional screens with current system. Advice need

Thanks again! One other question. With the Matrox, are you still able to use the laptop display as well, for a total of three displays? Yes, the computer will think that the dual head is one weirdly large screen and happily run both the internal and both external. The only warning I have is to make...
