Can you feather the edges of a video clip?

Post by BigFatPaulie »

I'm running Resolume 5. I have a client that created a promo video and wants me to map it to a dress her student made. I want to run the promo video layer over some particle effects or some other looping footage and I wanted to know if there is a way to feather the edges of the Promo video layer so the edges blend better?

One way to achieve this would be to create a mask image and apply it to the promo clip.

You can also try the vignette effect.

I've created an image in photo shop with a few variations of gradients - circular, bars, etc. I load this image into a layer; and use the input selection to choose what gradient I need (perhaps a few circular gradients positioned around the dress in your situation). Then I map them into my setup.
