I have a composition with a lot of still images (and also DXV video).
A- I wonder if it is possible to use DVX video of a few identical frames (maybe 10 ?) to replace PNG images.
B- Will it be less GPU intensive ?
Thanks.

I don't know if it will be less GPU intensive, but what I know is, that the quality of a PNG is much better!
...hmm... and when I clearly think about your "less GPU intensive" question.....
I can show up to 100 layer with a PNG picture without any stuttering...very smooth
It was a joke did you ever saw a picture stuttering?
What I ment...It won't be a problem to show as many pictures as you want. And the quality will be better than using DXV.
In detail : my comp is 1280 x 1500, projected with two VP (1280*800) on a construction (see picture attached). So I have about 35 slices to map (I mean warp) video exactly on each sides.
First point : without any clip playing (comp is empty) FPS drops to 44 with this advanced output setup. Is it normal ?
Second : 24 videos (DXV, 300x169) = FPS drops to 25 and about 16 PNG with alpha = FPS drops to 20.
It's still usable but I search to optimize it as best as possible.
Any idea ?

It's best to keep your composition size as low as possible. When you are playing 300x169 content in a 1280x1500 comp, Resolume will have to calculate every layer at 1280x500, which starts adding up, even if the layers are predominantly empty.
If you make a 300x169 comp and use layer to slice routing to map your structure, it will be considerably faster.
By now I had no time to try your solution, as the exhibition is in 5 days we have to move on.
So I didn't touch size comp but I resize all stills as PNG 72 dpi divides in small parts, get rid of some unuseful mask and FTS raises now to 23. That's enough for me. With 38 layers, 30 slices, 2 screens, no other effect than some crops.
Just to share, I don't see any performance drop when I add more and more empty layers, but a empty composition with lots of slices and output warping strain graphic resources.
But I definitely want to try your solutions. I will let you know. Thanks again.
