Freezes, DXV

Post by asperi »

I am getting slight freezes just when triggering a different clip on a layer. This is now happening when I re-rendered a bunch of clips to DXV, so all clips are DXV, 1080 60fps mov, no audio. Comp is 1080, fullscreen output is 3072x768. Just 2 layers of clips, 3 layers of Black magic intensity inputs. Windows 7, os on intel SSD, clips on 7200rpm 2tb drives, i7, 16gb ram, nvidia 560 2gb..

Interesting thing is with the clips all DXV I was getting better FPS, about 40fps mixing 2 layers of clips, but would get the freeze when going to between clips. Before when I used h.264 for all my clips, the FPS was like 20fps, but I never had this often freeze..

Can you monitor your hard drive access during one of these freezes? It sounds like your hard drive is struggling to get the data.

Will do. Where do I do that? Task manager> Resource monitor> disk?
What should I be looking for? Thanks-
