from the wire:
Beamsystems cooperates with the Sugar Factory and Sense Visuals to bring you BeamLab, the Visual Forums. A new series aimed at meeting new talent in video art and schowcase the posibilities of video equipment.

BeamLab is the audiovisual laboratory, a platform where theory can be discussed, technological solutions are innovated and artists are given the opportunity to realize their wildest ideas in a public setting. Challenge us with your concepts and bring your own footage to be played at the big screen
This first BeamLab will be held at November 17th in the Sugar factory in amsterdam:

We have software presentations and workshops with Robotfunk, best known for his Flowmotion software. Rik Arends who worked with Micha Klein on Videoflux and Bart van der Ploeg and Edwin de Koning who build one of the most succesfull VJ programs to date: Resolume.
A debate on the nature of videoart with members of Vision Impossible and other visual artists.

Last but not least, Beamsystems will roll in lots of toys for you to play with; among which some Pioneer X1-DVJ players, the Medialon showcontrol system, Kaos Pad Entrancers, v4s MX-50s, MX-70s and of course a massive screen setup so bring your own footage!

Later that night we continue into the 'vreemd' party at which you can use all the toys live at the party. We'll be creating slots so that everybody gets a change to try out all these toys live.
