Converting the images to DXV should help a lot with responsiveness
If you use Alley, you get 1 frame DXV files from image input.

I just found this in the Alley manual: Image Sequences
You can use Alley to convert an image sequence into a video.
Save your sequence in a separate folder, and make sure each image is named sequentially. Next, drag the folder in to Alley. Alley will see that the files are supposed to be a sequence and will display, cue and convert them as a single file.
But when i convert 5 images into a sequence, only one image is playing in the resulting .mov.
After loading the images in Alley, it does say "Image Sequence" but even in the preview i can only see one image, no matter where i move the playhead to.
Files are named image 001, image 002, ...
Anybody here knows how to make an image sequence that plays all images in one file?
Image sequences are a special pack of image files.
Only they need to be in a folder, and they have to be named sequentially.
But this will make 1 video with 1 image as 1 frame, 30 images will be 30 frames in this video.
If you'd like to do a slideshow, with fading and timing options, individual files is what you're looking for, like in Arvol's video.
