Our working tools (notebooks) will disappear ??

Post by vonhellsing »

Our working tools will disappear ?
A lot of new notebook models start come just with intel on-boad video cards, apple change amd and nvidia per intel hd4000, we stay lost tools. Ultrabooks just with intel.
Ok! we´ll have alienware and retina (at apple change video card too), or we´ll need back to make heavy and large PC´s to travel in tour ? I have 2 - 3U rack pcs with corei7 processors, 32gb ram, 03 Nvidia videocard with 1g ddr (total 6 outputs each pc) but to travel with 45 kg of excess baggage will be expensive, retina i see a lot of problems with HDMI output, like my mac-mini, thats makes apple ban me from apple forum after some people offer help me to make an lawsuit against Apple in Brazil, per apple dont fix hdmi output low quality problem.

I don know where we´ll go with vj work.

Ps: sorry per my english i´m a brazilian and we speak portuguese, no spanish or english.

i don't think like that...
there are new notebooks with the option to use 2 outputs...
besides MSI, Dell, Schenker even Lenovo now makes affordable Gaming-Notebooks!

i just ordered a new notebook, my old one is build 2007 ;)

i'm more concerned that the Desktop-CPU do not advance that fast... every new generation just consumes les power and has better graphics. For playing live in Resolume it's quiet enough, but for video/3D rendering there you can't get enough performance ;)

besides, new GPU's are very expensive (Geforce Titan 950€ :o )

My shiny new Mac book has 3 outputs. 2 thunderbolt and 1 hdmi.

Have you tried building a render farm? The C4d farm is a little tedious but can save you time.

no, not at my little place ;)
i think if you really need something fast you can use cloud rendering ;)
saves time and power ;)
