Pitch Wheel control

Post by aidopotato »

Hi. New board member, and relatively new to resolume, so apologies if this topic has been discussed ad nauseum, but i couldn't find the info i needed anywhere, sooo....

I'm trying to map the pitch wheel on my midi controller to move up and down through the layers (eg- if I'm on L1, and flick the pitch wheel up, it goes to L2; If i flip it up again, it goes to L3 and so on). I can't seem to do this, but I'm hoping it's just my inexperience.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Some further info on my setup, since I'm here; I'm using an M-Audio Axiom 25 for triggering video clips (not bothering with audio for now). I've the clips mapped to the white keys, with piano-style effects on the black keys; toggle-effects on the drum pads; some slider-style effects on the dials and master opacity on the Modulation wheel. If you've any suggestions that could improve my workflow, I'm all ears. Right now, I just really need a handy way of scrolling up and down the layers.

Maybe look into a program like this:
http://www.charlie-roberts.com/midiStroke/

You would assign your pitch wheel to the up and down arrow on your qwertry keyboard.

Ok, just to update, the link provided was for Mac only, but I went a-hunting for something similar for Windows and found Bome's MidiTranslator (http://www.bome.com/products/miditransl ... ew/classic). While it looked promising, and was very simple to use, it didn't play nice with Resolume. I did a little more reading, and apparently there's a workaround involving the use of another bit of software called Midi Yoke (http://www.midiox.com/index.htm?http:// ... /myoke.htm) but the process sounded like a lot of faff, and I decided I'd just stick with the Up and Down keys for now.

Cheers for the suggestion anyway, and I'm all ears if there's any other ideas out there :P

Yeah, For Windows I would suggest Bomes with MDI Yoke. I use Bomes for my OSX so my controller has pretty lights on them. Seems stable on OSX, sorry to hear it's buggy on Windows. Feel free to hit the Bomes guys up, very quick to reply to questions.
