Maybe someone here has some ideas on how I might achieve this:
I am setting up a show that uses a lot of feedback (I use the native Resolume feedback source). The opacity of the layer is very important so the treated feedback clips behave like I want them to. Too much can result in a white out, too little in nothing at all.
I am using an envelope on the opacity to keep the levels where I want them but I have differently treated feedback sources for different parts of the show that require different amounts of opacity. Is there any way to have different envelopes set that I could then switch on and off? (Opacity as an independent effect would be wonderful here.)
I know I could just have separate layers but I want to avoid that. I'm a bit afraid of performance issues as I start stacking up layers.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Multiple opacity envelopes?

Re: Multiple opacity envelopes?
Just a little bit of info.
I have about 60 layers and 300 columns in my deck.
I run about 40-45 clips from 5000*2290 to HD constantly for 10-12 hours a night. In addition to strobe effects.
Once in a while I might hit 30fps but I normally sit at 50-60fps
Just to give you an idea of the abuse I do to the system.

Ok, that is interesting!
I'm running an M1 MacBook and I've definitely had the FPS crash down to ~10 in a nine-layer composition when applying fx liberally and outputting 2x HD.
I'll give added layers a shot but am also very open to any other suggestions!

Re: Multiple opacity envelopes?
If you would just duplicate the feedback and put the envelope on the clip opacity instead of the layer opacity, then you can just switch between the different feedbacks on one layer.
I also built you a simple opacity effect and a feedback effect that is not a source but a effect.
Hope this will help you out.

Re: Multiple opacity envelopes?
That was my initial idea but the thing is layer opacity and clip opacity don't behave in the same way (see: viewtopic.php?t=19588)
But thanks for your Wire fx - I'll try these!
