Not Enough Computer for 100 Layers.

Post by ScottCoumbe »

I am trying to figure where my bottle neck is.
I have a project with a lot of Slices and Graphics.

I am running a family fun center.
32 layers of Numbers - 1920 x 1080 DVX3 Normal Quality With Alpha, 30FPS
32 layers of lights - 895 x 100 DVX Normal Quality No Alpha, Image Sequence from a PNG
32 layers of Ball Detect - 1920 x 1080 DVX Normal Quality With Alpha, 30FPS
and 4 large backgrounds - 3840 x 2160 DVX Normal Quality No Alpha, 30FPS

This puts me a 100 layers.
I am only needing (2) 4K outputs from the graphics card. but these two outputs do need to be sync'd perfectly

I bought what I thought would be enough computer but I am loosing frames.
The Composition is 15360 x 1736
Resolume is telling me
CPU - 3%
RAM - 48%
VRAM - 34%
FPS - MAX 30. but this does drop as my files play based on the active scenes in the arena
I would ideally get a solid 30 FPS. I go town to single digits sometimes.

Computer Spec's
Intel Core i7-14700KF - 3.40 Ghz
32GB Ram @5600mhz
Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC
1tb NVME, about 1/4 Full
Nvidia RTX 4070 Super

Task Manager is Telling me
CPU - 8% @4.8Ghz
RAM - 49%
GPU - 42% @43 degree C

Windows is Up to date
Nvidia is Upto Date
Resolume is Upto Date
All Files have been run in Alley. I have double and triple checked this.
What am I missing. or am I just at the maximum of what is possible with resolume?

Airconditioned Server Room. Plenty of air flow

Please let me know what my options might be to get solid 30 FPS.

You have all layers playing at the same time and then are just fading up the ones you need? Or are all needed at once? Seems to me that 100 file reads is going to be a lot of data, if they aren;t all one screen at once you could try clip menu -> fader start, then they pause when not active, this could also be a way of testing if the drive access is the issue, if it is and fader start wont work for you, then clips spread over more hard drives or raid array might help
