Hello,
I've been using Arena with Ableton Live for my band show.
Basically we are using two compositions (two different setlists).
Ableton Live hosted on a macbook pro sends a MIDI note to a MAC mini that host Resolume Arena 7 and it triggers a column with a video.
As we are using two composition we are going to change everytime the midi default.XML file because every setlist has its own Ableton project with its set of midi notes.
It happens randomly that the videos are not starting at all and only a Mac mini reboot fix the situation, we tried to disconnect and connect again the midi interface but nothing happens. Just a complete reboot of the system solve the issue and the issue is completely random as Arena loose the connection or something similar.
We started to have this problem when we started working with the new composition. When we were using one single composition we never had a problem. I really don't know what to try out more.
Is there anyone that can help me please?
Thank you in advance
Francesco
Arena midi mapping issue, help please!
Re: Arena midi mapping issue, help please!
Could be something with the network midi interface's connection.
Do you see incoming packets in the Resolume midi preferences when it doesn't seem to work?
Is the Network midi device connected in Audio and Midi setup app?

Ho Zoltàn, thank you for your reply!
The midi interface is ok, we also tried to change the USB to MIDI interface cable that goes from the MIDI out of the MOTU interface to the usb of the MAC Mini.
I tried to deselect the USB2MIDI input and select it again under preferences on Arena but it didn't help. Only a complete MAC mini reboot solve the issue.
I read about a MIDI monitor under preferences but actually I din't find it, can you send a screenshot of where I can find it please? It would be nice to see if the MIDI note is received anyway when Arena stop to work.
Thank you!

Any other apps on the same machine which might be using the same midi device?
