I did a search on this but it's as clear as mud. I want to use Arena 6 to control LED lights, moving heads and other devices that use DMX - but my DMXis will not work, and is no longer supported anyway....
What hardware device or devices will Arena talk to to output DMX via regular XLR cables?
Any help most appreciated. Thanks. Small show with few lights, one universe is plenty at this time.
Arena 6 DMX control of lights

Re: Arena 6 DMX control of lights
From Arena 6, resolume will only output Artnet. This is a network protocol for sending DMX data from a controller to a decoder (generally referred to as a Node).
To go from Arena to physical xlr connectors, you will want a network switch (something as basic as a Netgear G305) and an artnet node. There are a lot of different nodes available, some with more features than others, and some with more dmx ports than others. You can go for smaller cheaper options like Chauvet AN2 or Showtec Net-2, up to nodes like a Luminex luminode or a Swisson XND series.
For moving lights, arena isn't a particularly good control option, as it's really only implemented intensity and colour control from pixel values. Depending what you want to do, you could look at something like QLC or magicQ as a free alternative that is actually designed to control lights, and is able to merge intensity and colour from external sources (arena) with its own pan/tilt, effects, prism, gobo, strobe etc...
