recording footage in 2.3 | final output comes out speeded up

Post by ZooPH »

Hi,

Im recording some footage in Res 2.3 - im using 29fps videos but after i record the mix to disk the frame rate appears to speed up even tho it still says its playing at 29fps...

I need desperately to get this work done today - so if any kind person out there can reveal my problem ill be eternally thankful ;)

old bug, no fix mate.. best to record out using an external device.. dv cam or external dvd recoder then recapture into resolume.. if thats what really required.

im wondering if its because Resolume needs a faster CPU and HDD.

Im building a QUAD core system with 10000 rpm HDDS in RAID so will retest the record function again

hopefully it wont drop frames and we'll finally have an answer

ah its not dropping frames.. it just replays the footage at twice the speed even though its supposedly recording 29fps...

So... i record with footage at around 6fps (after a few tests) and the recorded footage plays back at the correct (or near enough) frame rate.

I have no idea why it does this!

but yeah ive got the same issue, its not coz of speed tho

guess ill have to record externally

for sure frames are dropped. you can analyse it in after effects.
there you can also speed up the footage again, and interpolate the missing frames.

Yes it appears faster because frames are dropped during recording. But if you use a real-time encoding codec like and mjpeg codec during the recording it,s much much better. I record all the footage pack demo mixes with the PICvideo codec on my core 2 duo macbook pro and they are perfect (320x240).

Yup thats the solution. I Use the mjpeg codec suggested by resolume and everything works fine.....only the compression settings get lost after restart (but thats another little annoying bug)

Hey guys.

I now run a QUAD core cpu with 10,000 rpm HDDS in RAID and the record function although still not perfect is much better... less dropped frames and useable.
