I am about to order the parts to build a new computer, primarily for Resolume.
There is a fairly big difference in price between the Nvidia 670 GTX and 680 GTX. I was going to purchase the 680 but reading up on reviews it seems that the 670 is basically identical to the 680 with a few bits disabled.
Will there be any performance difference between the two cards in Resolume and what parts of the graphics card does Resolume use mainly? Shaders, Texture units, texture fillrate, graphics clock, memory clock, graphics ram?
The motherboard will be a socket 2011, using the i7 3930K chip with 16GB ram.
I will be doing large compositions over multiple outputs.
Thanks,
Tim
Graphics Card Difference
Re: Graphics Card Difference
I ended up going for the 680 and its a great card. Not sure how that would compare with the 670 though.
Just did an event this weekend running Resolume on my new machine, outputting to 4 projectors.
Resolume ran all day with no crashes and was nice and fast.

Re: Graphics Card Difference
Did you get the 4gb or 2gb version of the 680? For large comps one might assume this could make a difference...
