Jumpy Layer fades

Hi,

I'm trying to get smooth transitions using the layer fade - set at max fade time. It's grand until the last little bit, when it just cuts out the clip that its transitioning from with a big clunk. (this behavior is also the same for all durations of transition).

Is this a bug, or am i missing something very simple? I've tried changing the transition type to see if it makes a difference, but to no avail!?

+1 … happens as soon as transparency is involved – two solid color sources fade just fine, whereas a line source and a solid color source don't. But maybe I am missing something, too.
