Laptop suggestion?

Post by hyz »

Hi,

I am currently running Avenue on my iMac, but it isn't for venues and gigs. I have looked for some laptops, but nothing really seemed to fit in the specifications needed to run Avenue smoothely. (My price range is +/- 500 euro's.)
Since I can't download and run Avenue in a store, all I can rely on are the specifications.
I would like to hear your thoughts on this one:

Hi Hyz,
500 € is not very much for a notebook which should run Resolume smoothly.
If you are going to play a handful of 640x480 DXV clips booth notebooks should do the job.

Most important for Resolume is a good graphics card and fast file reading capability's...I would highly recommend you a SSD. The graphic cards in your two suggestions are booth very weak models...but as I mentioned before: a handful of lowres dxv clips will work.

The rest: CPU, RAM ect. should be okay...

hmm..just found this offer on ebay looks perfect!

Hi cosmowe!

Thanks for the information.
I'm planning to buy it and test it. If it doesn't work out, I can return in to the store within a week and get an other one that fits my needs.

Currently I am using DXV codecs on my footage to let it run smoother. 640x480 would do the job on beamers.

The laptop you've suggested looks awesome! The specs are amazing for that price range, but I prefer buying a new laptop instead of an used one.
