Playing next clip in layer by pushing a MIDI key

Post by Duncan »

Hello,

I am desperate to find a solution for a very simple problem : how to program a MIDI key to simply play the next video in the layer (same as numpad right key) ?

I use Resolume in a quite simple way, just sending video one by one during a concert, in sync with the music, and playing straightforward the video as they are, with no effects.

The only thing I can do in MIDI, is to assign a key to each clip, and I don't want that (I don't have enough keys, and that makes things complicated for no reason...). I just want to play the next or previous clip in the layer when pressing the key.
And mapping the keyboard to the MIDI device in an external software just deactivate it in Resolume, and we then can't use the fadder buttons so easily...

If we could easily add transition when pushing to the next clip, along with this fonctionnality, that would change our life ! Resolume is great at doing complicated things easily, but not so great in doing very basic things, which is sometime a pity...(would be delighted to make you a small list of function for basic use if you would like to consider, which would be appropriate to cinema concerts...)

Thanks in advance for any solution !

EDIT: This information i gave was not correct so I removed it to prevent confusion

go to view, enable show clip transition controls there you have a slider for transition time and you can choose the transition blend.

push your midi button, exit mapping.
this should play the next clip in the layer
No, that is not what that button does. There is no 'play next' gui item that can be mapped to midi. The only way to currently do this, is by running some external control software.

Sorry about that,
So what does that button do, I can't find it in the manual?

It's to trigger clips on that layer with different values on a single cc: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=11187
